Class FAQ

Hows it work?

On arrival,  head to the venues front counter and wait to be seated, this venue is table service and will collect the final $25 direct from you when you order your meal. Once everyone has eaten (approximately 30-40 Minutes into the event) your art teacher will commence your class. While other guests eat your teacher will also help you collect the kit and choose your colours before class.

Hows the ticketing work?

You will pay a deposit to hold your spot, and finalise your payment on arrival at the venue at $25 a head which will cover your meal and drink - full bar available on-site if you wish to purchase further drinks.

How are cells created in class without heat?

We can not safely heat resin in class due to the possible release of carbon monoxide vapour, for that reason we offer a safer alternative whereby we teach you to stretch pigment through clear resin and break the surface tension intentionally to create cells.

How do I travel with my work?

You will need to hold your work level with two hands on your way home, your work will be inside a box with a dam taped in place until you arrive home whereby you will release the dam and allow the work to drip before attending to drips with the DIY pack. If you do not travel holding your work with two hands the design will move and change significantly. We recommend ride-sharing, being picked up and dropped off, or ubering home.

Will my design change even if it is left without movement?

Almost certainly, resin by nature is fluid this means it will move around and change over time. This includes even if it is perfectly level (despite the many DIY you tube videos out there, density of pigment and its interaction with the other pigments and how much of those pigments you use, plays a rather large role in the final design). Please expect your work to move, stretch and change up to 1.5 inches from when you depart until it has settled on your counter.

What kind of lazy susan will be provided?

The Susan pictured about is the Susan that will be provided, if for any reason these are not available, we will provide a bamboo or acacia wood alternative (which are slightly larger and $10 more expensive) at no additional cost.

What kind of colours will be provided?

You will be provided with a range of colours on the night, whilst no specific colours are guaranteed our kit is well stocked and provides a range of basics, lusters, mettalics and powders, glitters will also be available at this event.

Parking

There is plenty of parking available on-site at no cost to you.

What to wear to class?

You should dress for an art class, presently we are unable to provide aprons due to fines that can be applied for breaching Covid measures. As aprons sit firmly against the chest there is an elevated probability of sharing and spreading Covid. This may change as soon as the covid measures do, if this happens between now and your class aprons will be provided, otherwise you would be well advised to dress in old clothing or BYO an apron.

Can I pre-order a meal?

No. The venue provides a seasonal menu that changes at regular intervals, if you would like to know the menu please connect with the venue direct and they will be able to provide you the current menu they are running for the evening.

What happens if I can't make it?

You can find the terms and conditions here. For this class you will loose your deposit if you cancel within 7 days (this includes due to Covid or because of an emergency) premium tickets are available if you would like to purchase ticket protection, this protection allows you to transfer out of the class right up until the event starts (please email hello@sipndip.com.au before the start time to exercise your premium ticket protection, emails after this time will be considered a no show).
