What will happen during the class:

After you have enjoyed your meal and transitioned to your art class, your teacher will introduce you to the subject of resin, provide you with a brief overview of what the steps will be, and provide a quick safety chat. Once you are ready to go, the class will be split into 2 groups. Group A will be tasked with measuring their resin & hardener, group b will be tasked with choosing their color pigment. Once the whole group has both resin, hardner and their pigment, the teacher will commence instructing you through the stages of mixing your resin, layering your dirty cup, and the flip-cup technique for this class.

Transporting your resin home

We use a very small amount of resin for this class but it will still be very fluid on departure. We recommend taking UBER home to allow you to carry your work with both hands and keep it level throughout the trip to ensure it doesn't spill on your way home. This class is not suitable for someone travelling by themselves as placing your work on the floor of your vehicle while you drive could very easily cause it to spill and ruin what you have produced in class. You will be provided with an alcohol wipe to take home with you to allow you to clean up any mishaps from travel. But please be under no illusion that the resin will be fluid for the first 12-24 hours and will require someone to hold it during transportation after class.

The timing of this class is as follows:

6 pm - Arrival at the Mango Hill Tavern, check-in, pay for & order dinner

6.45 pm - Transition to your spot in the workshop

7:00pm - Class commences

8:/30pm - Class Concludes

Things you should know about resin

Resin is a timed chemical reaction - we can not slow this down, and it can speed up due to a variety of factors beyond our control. So we HIGHLY recommend you make yourself aware of the various factors in play by reading thoroughly our resin FAQ page located here.

Choosing pigment colours

You will be provided with a range of colours to choose from, you can mix coloured pigments together to create new colours and you can even add white pigment to create lighter colours. We recommend between 1-3 colours + a metallic pigment. On-site on the evening we will have the basic primary colours, secondary and some tertiary colours plus black and white, along with mica powders. We recommend having a look at some colour pallets that compliment each other here. We do not guarantee particular colours on the evening but provide a range.
