SPECIAL EVENT - Make Candles for a purpose

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at Beeswax Candle Making? Well now you can - for a cause!

Domestic Violence Action Centre is teaming up with the community to provide a series of 'Candle Making Workshops for a Purpose'

You are invited to join Domestic Violence Action Centre and Sip N Dip Australia to learn of to make candles and join in with conversations about the impact of domestic violence in your community and how you can be part of the solution.

These workshops are casual and fun events with a serious side conversation.  Whilst you are making your candle or artwork (and you are not chatting about art and candles), we hope you will join in on conversations about domestic violence and how we can all help bring an end to it.  

It will be a great chance to ask questions or just listen.If you have never had a conversation about domestic violence before or never thought it had anything do with you, then these workshops are especially for you!

We hope that after the workshop you will feel inspired to bring your newly made candle (friends, family, colleagues) to the Domestic Violence Remembrance Day Candle Vigil on Wednesday 5th March in Ipswich CBD.  It is a solemn event that remembers lives lost to domestic violence but it also an opportunity to learn, to find your voice, call out violence, promote equality and be part of the solution to say no, not now, not ever to domestic violence.So please join us to make and then light your candle for a purpose.
