Have you been to one of our beginner macrame classes and looking for a new challenge? Maybe you want a more intimate class setting?

Our macrame masterclass is for you!

Your class will be held with Desiree - our resident Macrame exper and designed to provide you with an in-depth look at how it works. While our classes are focused around Fun art not Fine art - in this masterclass you can expect a delve deeper than the surface and look at the process of working with a variety of strings, choosing colours, exploring techniques and more.

Expect more pieces, more information and more time - with a smaller group. Take your macrame knowledge to the next level!

How to choose twine

Learn the ins and outs about twine, why some perform better than others and why it is so important to make an informed decision about the type you want to use for a specific style.

Styles, Techniques & Tools

We will come together and discuss the various kinds of techniques and tools you can use to create designs in macrame. You will learn the various outputs from using different tools, Desiree will lead you in creating a series of strings of knots (technique strips) in different styles that you can use at home to create key chains, baby dummy holders, a wall hanging or more as you come to understand the relationship between tension, knots, materials and tools. Or you can just keep them as a reminder on how to do your knots!

Finishing

You will learn about the post-production process. How to finish your work so it stays put, optional finishing techniques like dip dying or fraying and what works best for which styles.

Application

Once the theory and technique strips are completed, you will move onto the application of your ideas. Desiree guide you in choosing your coloured twine from our selection, measuring and cutting, and step by step she will help you to create a beautiful wall hanging that you will be proud to say you made.

Your work will go home with you on the day.

USING A GIFT-CARD TO PAY

If you are using a gift card to pay for your ticket please book in using the ‘manual payment’ option on our website, then forward your ticket email confirmation toaccounts@sipndip.com.au along with your gift card information. We will manually mark your ticket as paid from our end and decommission the gift card from our end.
