Sip 'n' Dip engages Biz Cover for our pulic liability insurance, we are covered to 20 Million and it relates to the class only.
We conduct risk assessments for each class before they are deployed in our network, these assessments cover the class, materials, supplies, application of the class, teachers and so on.
Customers agree by purchasing a ticket, that any illness, injury or incident related to the venue, even while the class is in session is not covered by our policy and relates to the venue's Public Liability insurance.
Customers agree by purchasing a ticket, that if the illness, injury or incident is related to their own negligence, such as intoxication, not listening to instruction, not following instruction or for any other reason deemed negligent, that they will not be covered for resulting injury.
Venues are required to have a first aid officer on site, all medical interventions will be referred to their treating officer. Venues provide public insurance to cover patrons attending their venue, and for activities associated with the venue.
Example 1 (Venue Liabilty Insurance):
June has come to attend an art class at one of the venues, the venue has assigned seating in an outside area. It starts to rain and the venue requests the teacher to ask the students to move the class to an inside area, June slips while she is moving between spaces and breaks her leg. This injury relates to the venue and is covered under the venue's Public Liability Insurance.
Example 2 (Sip 'n' Dip Liability Insurance):
June has come to attend an art class at one of the venues, the class involves the use of tumbler turners which require to be connected by cables. June trips on a cable because the teacher has not applied cable covers and/or made adequate attempts to ensure customers are both aware of any tripping hazzards and removed these hazzards. June trips over exposed cables on her way to the bar and breaks her leg. This injury relates to the class being delivered and is covered under Sip 'n' Dip's Public Liability insurance policy.
Example 3 (Negligent behaviour - not covered):
June has come to attend an art class at one of the venues, the class involves the use of resin. June became intoxicated during the meal sitting before the class but was no visably intoxicated to the teacher. Her friends help cover her intoxication to aviod being ejected from class due to a breech of terms and conditions of ticket sales. June dosent follow the instruction in the class, and gets resin on her skin that she forgets to wipe off and goes home to bed after class. June wakes up with a rash on her arm. This injury relates to Junes intoxication and negligent behaviour and will not be covered by insurance as proper instruction was provided and her situation was conceled from Sip 'n' Dip.

This certificate issued annually is a Certificate of Currency, which provides cover under the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 for:
(a) the employer's legal liability for compensation; and (b) the employer's legal liability for damages.
The amount of insurance under the workers' compensation scheme is unlimited subject to the provisions of the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 and the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Regulation 2014 and the employer's compliance with their requirements.
In some instances, non-compliance can jeopardise an employer's insurance cover but will not prevent an injured worker from being compensated pursuant to the Act.

Sip 'n' Dip collects a deposit at the time of booking, this covers your class, teacher, materials and supplies. Sip 'n' Dip's public liability insurance covers these aspects.
We do not own the venues we operate in.
When you arrive at the venue you pay a booking fee on arrival, this is pre-determined by the venue and can range from $15 - $35. The venue allows customers to swap this for a range of predetermined meal options, which may range from a minimum menu spend, through to a set menu.
This fee is payable regardless or if you would like to claim the meal option available or not as it covers your entry to the venue and their venue booking fee. This fee includes public liability for any time spent onsite at the venue the same way as it applies to any patron in their venue at the time. Issues that related to anything outside of the class itself (see above) including trips not related to the class even if they happen while the class is in session, meals, hazards and any other venue-related issue including first aid, are referred to the venue and their public liability insurance.
